I Knew You Were Trouble

This single surprised me, I expected Taylor's normal sound but this unexpectedly pop sounding, but not bad! I love it!!!

I just read this dystopian YA novel and after I finished it I felt strangely compelled to write a review and I was surprisingly witty and inspired, probably because I didn't write at 3 on the morning after an all nighter... haha

Well first of all I must say that I'm glad to read a YA book that is not about vampires, wherewolves, fairies or any such thing! It was good at the beginning but now is getting annoying....
Instead this is a dystopian novel about cyborgs and people from the moon!!! Cinder, the main character, is strong, smart and determined. And the pace of the novel is good enough that it keeps you wanting to know what happens next, of course I expect many sequels after this but I'm willing to read them if they are as exciting as this one.

But of course I won't proclaim this novel as life-changing or the next big thing, because there are many things that could use improvement. First of all, this is a dystopian novel so in exchange I want to know how this universe here works, how is the new society, the freaky rules they have or the unspoken secrets they have. But instead at the beginning the author throws you unprepared and you just have to guess what is happening, so it's a little unsettling for a while... It's like the author assumed you knew everything about this new society and the problems Cinder is facing. I wanted more background story of the planet, the lunars and the rest of the characters!!!
Another problem I found is that the romance between Cinder and the prince is like an afterthought of the author so there is no emotion or spark between them that leaves you wanting more. Of course, I would be okey if there appears a love triangle later on and their feeling for each other grow in the face of obstacles in their romance. haha

But I will reserve my true opinion until the series is over, meaning if the next books aren't crap, but I will tell you that the book accomplished the goal of entretaining me for a good couple of hours!!
